MergeColony
MergeColony is a city-building-simulator style game, where your objective is to build a Mars colony as big as you can!
This game was made in 5 days by a team of 4 people for raylib 6.x gamejam.
The core mechanic of this game is that you can merge adjacent buildings together to save space, increase ore production or make people happier! You are able to build only 4 basic buildings. You can acquire other buildings only by merging basic ones.
Tutorial
This game has some entry barrier, so these are a few things you need to know before starting playing:
- Keep an eye on your population: The population of your colony is very important. People will come if the average happiness is greater than or equal to 50% and you have enough beds. But if the average happiness is lower than 40%, people will leave your colony.
- Keep an eye on employment: Jobs are also very important. Almost every building has some workplaces. If there are going to be too few people in your colony - production will slow down because you have fewer people than jobs.
- Keep an eye on ores: You can't just build a drill anywhere and expect it to start mining resources. Copper and iron are not equally distributed across the entire map. You can check the distribution of the ores in "Overlay" menu.
- Merge buildings: The core mechanic of this game is building merging. You can merge both the same buildings and different buildings together. You can use the "Inspect" tool to get detailed information about every building in the game.
PRO Tip: Use the key Q to clear your cursor!
